Fatal Crash in Perry County

A Perry County man is dead after a Sunday morning crash.

The State Highway Patrol said that 20-year-old Tyler Moore, of New Lexington, was traveling northbound on State Route 93 near Dutch Ridge Road when he lost control of his 2009 Toyota Scion and left the roadway. His vehicle then went over an embankment, striking a tree.

Moore was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Perry County Coroner.

The State Highway Patrol said that Moore was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. At this time the Patrol said speed is likely a factor in the crash that took place around 3:00 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers remind motorists to wear their seatbelts and drive at posted speed limits. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the New Lexington Fire Department.
