AEP Ohio was at the Muskingum County Fair on Friday performing safety and awareness demonstrations for the crowds.
The power company performed five shows throughout the day, that taught the public how to be safe when dealing with electricity.
" A lot of people do their own trimming and they won't understand how close the lines are. They won't look up, they'll drop trees into it and they don't understand that electricity tracks down into the trees, even if it's a 30 to 40 foot limb. It could track down through it and cause electrocution, " said Line Mechanic, Eric Erwin.
This is the second year that AEP has performed at the fair. Last year they did demonstrations for 3 days and thanks to high public demand, this year they will be at the fair all week.
"We have had a lot of good crowds. We have crowds ranging from anywhere from 30 people up to 100 people watching it so everyone has been pretty pleased and want us to come back, "said Erwin.
AEP invites everyone to see their demonstrations especially children so they can understand the dangers of electricity if mishandled.
