A Zanesville woman is riding a brand new Harley Davidson... and all it cost her was a text message.
Yuengling and Fink's Harley Davidson in Zanesville teamed up for the American Freedom Text-to-Win program. The pair came up with $12,500 in vouchers to be spent by one lucky winner at the Fink's Harley Davidson dealership.
Julie Brown with Fink's said "A lot of people, you know, to be able to win a Harley Davidson, it's been a lot of fun... And it brings people into the dealership to look around and see the merchandise we have, all the different bikes we have... So it's been a big thing at our dealership, it really has."
Staci Wheeler of Zanesville heard about the contest back in June. She entered to win, and was shocked when she found out that she had done just that.
"I forgot about it actually," said Wheeler. "I didn't even think about it, and so I thought that it was fake when I got the text from Yuengling."
Matesich Distributing Company has been promoting the program with the help of WHIZ Radio. Scott Sole with Matesich said the company sponsors a number of community promotions, but said this was the biggest to date for Yuengling.
"Well actually it's just the awareness of Yuengling being in the state now. They've been in the state for almost two years at this time, so just being aware of Yuengling being out there," said Sole
Wheeler said she has been a Harley Davidson fan for quite some time, but she doesn't have any place in mind where she wants to take her first trip on her brand new motorcycle.
"Not particularly... Any place is a good place to ride a Harley."
