Seasonal job opportunities are on the rise in Muskingum County.

According to the Supervisor at Ohio Means Jobs Muskingum County, local businesses including the Dollar General, Fanatics and the Five B's are all likely to hire at this time.

"This is a prime hiring season for the fall as we move into the holidays we see a lot of retail establishments will start building their staff, " said Bob Mercer.

Mercer notes that companies often hire from their temporary staff when looking for full time employees. He says the Ohio Means Jobs building in Muskingum County has recently expanded to better assist job seekers.

"Things are going very well in our resource room, again we have in the building, 55 public access computers. So we will be working with temporary agencies on a consistent basis, " said Bob Mercer.

Along with providing on site assistance, Ohio Means Jobs wants to encourage job seekers to come out to the 2013 Southeastern Ohio Job Fair at Zane State College on September 16th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. U.S. Congressman, Bill Johnson will be present at the event.

There is also a Utilities, Gas and Oil Career Expo on October 3rd at the Muskingum County Welcome Center for those interested in the energy industry. For more information you can visit Ohio Means Jobs at 445 Woodlawn Avenue. They are open Monday through Friday.
