The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reports a Northridge High School student was arrested for making threats to shoot other students.

Sheriff Randy Thorp says on Wednesday the student used social media to send a message that contained threats made against students who attend the high school.

Sheriff Thorp says while no particular students were singled out in the message, the message indicated the student was going to shoot several students.

Thursday detectives were notified of the message by school officials who went to the high school and arrested the juvenile, who later confessed to the incident.

The student is being held in the Licking County Juvenile Detention facility.
