The Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority Executive Director Mike Jacoby said the Transportation Improvement District of Muskingum County was approved for a grant by ODOT that will be used to replace the Grant Cliff Bridge in South Zanesville.

"We received word last week in fact that we will get the $250,000 for that project," said Jacoby. "Now it'll take a year or two to actually complete that project but we have some of the money secured now and that's a good things."

Jacoby asked the port authority board to approve a contract with Matt Grimm Services to clean up and repair damaged in a wetland caused by a July storm during Friday's meeting.

"Today we really continued a conversation that we started last month about who is really financially responsible for an act of God when you've got storm damage to an area where seed has not established itself as grass and then we had some, a lot of dirt and rock being washed away and it's got to be repaired."

The clean up will cost $7,700 and is expected to take only two days.
