There were only two ordinances up for action at Monday's City Council meeting.

One, an emergency ordinance allowing an agreement with North Valley Bank regarding the refinancing of the Southeastern Ohio Air Services mortgage. The final ordinance up for action, and the only one that passed will now allow the city to enter into a contract with URS Corporation-Ohio to design the city's combined sewer project. The cost for the design is estimated at just over $70,000. Mayor Jeff Tilton also recommended the appointment of Rebecca Burkhart to the Shade Tree Commission for a two-year term, replacing Bonnie Dailey. Council will resume in two weeks.
