Cut Out Bullying

Two local organizations team up to cut out bullying.

Cornerstone South Family Life Church in McConnelsville and Fabulous Cuts and Styles in Zanesville are offering five dollar styles, cuts and waxes this Sunday at the Maple Avenue Salon. All of the proceeds will go towards the ski box outreach program, that 6th district state representative Marlene Anielski started, so that students can anonymously submit the names of children being bullied, teased or are suicidal.

"The lady who owns this business, goes to our church and she has two children in our youth group and she offered these services to help raise money because they were really excited about this outreach, and were like if we can do anything to help and they came up with this one their own," said Youth Leader at Cornerstone South, Tim Ford.

Ford is the youth leader at the church and he says bullying is a popular topic between children and teens and the problem is only getting worse.

"It hurts them and a lot of kids don't want to go to school because they have to put up with this bullying and it's just a very sensitive topic for kids today."

Fabulous Cuts and Styles is located at 2116 Maple Avenue and the stylish event will be running from 10 to 2 pm
