The report for the month of September is in and shows that most calls were regarding food, meals and personal items.
"Well September was a good month, I mean some months you see they kind of go up and down, depending on what is going on and you will see in like July and August that was a lot of school supplies and that kind of thing,” said Call Center Manager, Audrey Foster. “September kind of evened out for people calling in. "
The United Way has several fundraisers coming up in the next few weeks. The first is this Thursday from 11 to 9 p.m.- 10% of all of the proceeds from the Zane Street Steak and Shake will go towards the United Way Campaign. The second is an all you can eat pancake breakfast at Applebee's on Saturday the 19th from 8 to 10 a.m.
"This fundraiser is really targeted towards the 211 Call Center to benefit the Call Center, so that is why we are really raising a lot of attention towards that as well. The tickets are five dollars each, you can buy some at the door but I would prefer you call us first and maybe get tickets here."
