Jury deliberations are underway in the murder trial of Lafonse Dixon.

Earlier in the day,  Muskingum County Assistant Prosecutor Ron Welch spent an hour and a half summing up the case against Dixon. He showed the jury a picture of Celeste Fronsman and asked them to close their eyes and took them through the events of August 26, 2012.

He said the associates are just as guilty as the mastermind behind the plan to kill Fronsman. Welch told the jury that Katrina Culberson and Monica Washington couldn't have done this on their own.

He also said that witness Mark Bretz would could not have made up the name "Fonse" when he found Fronsman beaten and burned on State Route 208 near Adamsville.

In their closing statements the defense said that Katrina Culberson and Monica Washington planned to blame Dixon for Fronsman's death. The jury was reminded that Washington didn't care about Dixon or anyone and that a conviction helps her at sentencing. The defense went on to argue that Fronsman's injuries weren't consistent with Dixon beating her. They told the jury that Washington and Culberson are the only two real witnesses and the defense questioned their credibility.

Dixon is charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping and aggravated arson in connection with Fronsman's death.
