Starting this week through November 15th you can take warm winter clothing and accessories to several locations to be donated to kids.
This will be the sixth year for the coat drive that is done by the Muskingum County Community Youth Foundation.
"We take coats, hats, scarves and gloves or any monetary donations, and we set up boxes, in area high schools, and all century national bank locations, the foundation and John McIntire Library," said CYF Treasurer Reed Neal.
The donated items will then be given to Eastside Community Ministries and The Salvation Army to be distributed the children in need. CYF also wants the community to know of a fund-raising event the organization is hosting coming up next week.
"The Adornetto's event is going to be on Wednesday, October 30th, from 4 to10,” said Reed. “Basically just members of CYF are going to take over for one night and we get 15 percent of all of the proceeds and all the tips of just the dine in. So it should be a good money maker for us."
The money raised will go into the general fund which is used for many things such as providing grants and scholarships.
