The fate of Lafonse Dixon is now in the hands of a Muskingum County Jury. Dixon was convicted last week in the burning death of 29-year-old Celeste Fronsman of Canton and is waiting to find out if the jury will give him the death penalty. Tuesday started the death penalty phase of trial. In testimony his two brothers took the stand to plead for his life. They said he was a good father to his kids and kept them off the streets and out of trouble. His mother also testified that Lafonse had an older sister he looked up too…but she died in a house fire at 12 years old. Dixon himself spoke to jury and admitted that Fronsman did not deserve what happened to her. Two co-defendants in the case have already pleaded guilty in the case and will be sentenced to life in prison. The jury has been deliberating since 2:00 this afternoon. Whiz News has a crew at the courthouse and will update the story once a verdict is reached.
