Holiday Shopping for a Good Cause

Locals went shopping for Christmas a little bit early at East Side Community Ministries on Saturday.

For the 7th year, more than 15 vendors gathered at the center for its annual Holiday Bazaar. The event that lasted from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon and brought local businesses and national vendors to sell a variety of items to the public.

"We have one person who has taken old furniture and repainted it and is selling it," said Development Director, Joey Osborne. We have makeup, hats and candles and jewelry. "

Along with home goods, they also sold food and desserts to visitors. The proceeds raised will not only benefit the vendors, but Eastside Community Ministries as well.

"The money raised goes towards the programming at East side," said Osborne. It will support our food pantry, our clothing bank and our after school programs "

In past years, the organization has raised approximately $2,000 and hopes to reach that goal again this year. Osborne would like to thank the vendors for their continuous support over the years.
