A local dance team held a holiday shopping event to raise money for their annual competitions.
The West Muskingum Twisters held their 3rd annual Holiday Craft Bazaar at the high school Saturday afternoon. There were more than 40 vendors selling a variety of items to the public.
"We have a lot of wood crafts, a lot of jewelry makers.. A lot of people that have their own crafts that they brought in to make and then some home businesses like Scentsy, Avon and Thirty one, they come in and they sell," said Twister's Coach, Amanda Reynolds.
There was also food and drinks for sale at the event. Some of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go back to the vendors while the rest will help the girls prepare for their out of town trips.
" It goes to help pay for the girls competition fees. The cost of food, all kinds of stuff.. anything that the teams needs," said Reynolds.
In years past the team has earned more than $1,000 at the Bazaar and hopes to surpass that goal for this year. The girls say that they are excited for basketball season to start and they have some great routines to show to the crowds.
