Zanesville High School and Middle School went on lockdown Wednesday for a routine drug search.  Coordinator of Operations Kevin Appleman says Zanesville Police and Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputies brought drug sniffing dogs into the schools and conducted the search.  Students were not permitted in the hallways during the planned event. Appleman says these types of searches are an important part of school safety and security and additional searches are planned.  No drugs were found.  Parents were also notified by phone of today’s search.
