A local organization visited WHIZ's Z92 Radio Station to set up headquarters for their annual fundraising event.
For more than 40 years, the Zanesville Jaycee's have participated in C Day, an event where members pick up can goods, toys, and clothes from the community and donate them to the local Salvation Army . This year they were able to pick up even more items for the good cause.
"Well last year we weren't able to take furniture donations.. This year we are going to be able to take donations and the Life well Furniture Bank will accept those where the Salvation Army was not able to last year, " said Jaycee's President, Mike Fulmer.
The Jaycee's received numerous calls and dispatched trucks all over the county up until noon on Saturday. Fulmer says that the donations will go towards providing a special Thanksgiving and Christmas for the less fortunate in our area.
"My favorite part is just being able to help out the Salvation Army, this is their busiest time of the year. They really need all of the donations that they can get and everybody's busy and we take the time out, we go get the donations for them and everybody wins, " said Fulmer.
The group would like to personally thank everyone who got involved this year and hopes that more people will participate next year.
