The holidays are quickly approaching and it seems that community members are in a giving mood.
Executive Director of Christ's Table, Keely Warden says that community members have donated fresh foods, canned goods and much more to make sure the visitors at Christ's Table have a wonderful holiday meal this year.
"We had all kinds of people show up last week with turkeys, Burkhart with the Downtown Farmer's Market showed up with a truckload of 800 yams, not only will we have turkeys here on Thanksgiving we will have fresh sweet potatoes with marshmallows just like you would at home," said Warden.
Along with donating items to the charity, many community members are volunteering their time to Christ's Table during the holidays.
"We are actually bombarded with volunteers during the holidays, this is such a good problem to have and we do schedule our volunteers. We have a waiting list for Thanksgiving day and we are signing people up for Christmas. "
On Monday members of Daybreak Rotary were serving food to guests, if you or your organization would like to volunteer or make a donation call Christ's Table at 740-452-9766. The Christ's Table dinner will take place 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
