Two people were hospitalized on Friday after a one-vehicle accident near Frazeysburg.

According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, a Muskingum County Sheriff Deputy witnessed a 2002 Jetta Volkswagen roll over and catch fire at approximately 4 p.m. The rollover took place on Canal Road near Vickers Hill Drive. Troopers say the driver of the car was sent by helicopter to the OSU Medical Center and the passenger was sent via ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital. Both people are expected to recover from their non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation and alcohol has not been ruled out as a cause of the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Muskingum County Sheriffs, Frazeysburg and Hanover Fire Departments all assisted on the scene.
