Barn Fire Reported Adamsville Road

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office says there is a barn fire Wednesday morning.  It happened at 3220 Adamsville Road across from McDonald’s Greenhouse.  Black smoke was seen from the sturcture.  The barn is located at Colonial Heights Farm. Whiz News reporter Nichole Hannahs says owner James McDonald told her there were no animals hurt in the fire.  The barn was filled with hay bailing equipment.  Mcdonald thinks a skid steer exhause got too close to the hay and caught it on fire.  Mcdonald added he thinks they suffered about $100,000 in damage, but they have insurance.  The Washington and Perry Township fire department are being assisted by the Zanesville fire departrments.  No word on the official cause of the fire which happened around 9:30 a.m.
