AT&T presented a $25,000 check to the FOA that will fund post-secondary scholarships throughout Ohio's Appalachian region at Muskingum University on Friday. FOA President Cara Brook says the scholarship will be distributed to high school students who plan on attending college and to those returning to higher education.
"AT&T supported the foundation's scholarship program," said Brook. "Specifically a needs-based scholarship that's available across the entire region of Appalachia Ohio. Educational opportunity is so important to young people and we really appreciate AT&T's investment in education and our region."
US Bank also presented a check to the FOA. The $10,000 check will go towards supporting philanthropic efforts in the region.
"It's very important for us, US Bank to be very active in all of our communities that we're located in," said Jeff East, Eastern Ohio Regional Director at US Bank. "And to me, The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio is a very important part of our eastern Ohio network. They have done several great things and we just want to be a part of it."
East says he makes it a priority to support the communities US Bank does business in.
