Last week gas prices in Zanesville and surrounding areas averaged around $3.24 a gallon, according to AAA. On Friday, the average price in Zanesville has increased about 20 cents to $3.42, upsetting many drivers.
Brad Tyo said, "I think the last time I got it, it was $3.10 or $3.11. I'm definitely trying to hold off as long as I can until I absolutely need gas, hopeful it goes back down here in the next few days or the next week."
"We'll I think they're gouging people," said Jerry Bradley. "Everybody's going back from vacation and stuff and they just want more money."
"They're just too high, the prices are way too high," Laura Jenkins said.
The state average for unleaded gasoline is $3.34, while the national average is $3.28, according to AAA. To find the lowest gas prices, you can go online to www.AAA.com and click on "road trips" and "fuel prices."
