The Guernsey County Sheriff's Office continues its investigation into a Thursday murder.
The sheriff said the body of 26-year-old Kayla Thompson, of Cambridge, was recovered at Dillon State Park after she was reported missing from her job as a pizza delivery driver, Thursday afternoon. Being held as a suspect is 32-year-old Adam Burris, also of Cambridge.
"He's being held at this time. Deputies are executing a search warrant at the residence where this abduction took place," explained Sheriff Mike McCauley. "They'll also be doing a search of the vehicle to process anything involved in this crime scene."
Thompson was reported missing by her job just before 2 p.m. Thursday. A deputy responded to the delivery address at 6399 McPherson Road where a female said she's seen her boyfriend leaving in the delivery car.
Deputies tracked Burris' phone. He was stopped by the State Highway Patrol on Interstate 70 east, just after 7p.m.
"He took detectives to Muskingum County to Dillon State Park to the site where the body was recovered," said McCauley.
Sheriff McCauley said the body was in a wooded area but won't speculate as to how Thompson died. An autopsy will be performed in Licking County, Friday.
The sheriff also reported that Burris was wanted in Butler County for domestic violence.
According to the Guernsey County Prosecutor's Office, Burris has been charged with murder. He is scheduled to appear for a felony bond hearing on Monday at 1 p.m.
