A vehicle crashed into a power line on Saturday evening causing significant damage.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at approximately 4:40 p.m. troopers received a report of a man driving a Ford pick up truck into a utility pole.
"He was going northbound on Sonora Rd. Drove off the right side of the road way hit two mail boxes and a utility pole and that's what cause the lines to come off on top of his truck," said Sergeant, Melanie Appleman.
The driver stayed inside of the truck until officials from AEP shut power down to safely remove him from the vehicle. The driver was unharmed. Fines and charges have yet to be determined, AEP is currently accessing the damage done to the area.
"They haven't given us an estimate as far as the price they did say they will be here within the early morning hours trying to get power restored to the area, " said Appleman.
Perry Township Fire Department also assisted on the scene. Alcohol is a suspected factor in Saturday's crash and the accident remains under investigation.
