A Zanesville man was sentenced Wednesday in connection with a stabbing incident last February.

26-year-old Kerron Brantley appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court where he received a seven year prison term on charges of felonious assault, breaking and entering and tampering with evidence.

Brantley was also facing an attempted murder charge but that was dropped at the time of sentencing.

Authorities say Brantley stabbed a woman at a church on Newark Road  in February of 2013.
