The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the Village of Crooksville is currently without natural gas.

Columbia Gas says around 1,000 customers are without service.

WHIZ News has learned that a main gas line into the village must be repaired then re-pressurized in order for the natural gas to flow again. Then gas crews will need to help residents by re-lighting individual pilot lights.

Columbia Gas officials say the problem should be repaired by Wednesday afternoon, but before work crews can turn on the gas they will  need to get inside affected homes.

Columbia Gas officals says if residents are not going to be home they must make arrangements with neighbors or leave some type of notificiation on the door.  All Columbia Gas officals have picture id's and will produce when requested..

The Perry County Emergency Management Agency says  New Lexington High School is open as a warming station.  If you need transporation to the High School you can call the EMA at 342-1141.
