Valentine's Day at Florofinos

With Valentine's Day just a few days away, Greg Orofino, owner of Florafino's on Maple Avenue, and his staff, are staying busy preparing arrangements, taking orders, and sorting through truck loads of flowers coming in from across the world.

"We'll have probably 10 drivers out delivering all over the place," said Orofino. "We have hired extra help for the day just to help in store and on the phones and that type of thing. So it's a really, really busy holiday."

While red and pink roses are the most popular type of flower purchased for Valentine's Day, Orofino said he also sells an abundance of lilies, tulips, and iris', most of which are grown outside of the U.S. in countries like Ecuador, Columbia and Costa Rica.

"We're really proud of what we do and just use your local florist. This is what we do, this is where we specialize at, we don't sell anything else but things that are related to the floral industry so shop small basically."

Florafino's is open until 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 7p.m. on Friday. While the flower shop is stocked with bouquets and arraignments ready-to-go, Orofino encourages customer's to come in as early as they can, as Valentine's Day will be a very busy day.
