Fishing License

Saturday is the first day people can purchase their fishing licenses for 2014.

Fishing licenses purchased last year are still valid until March 28th. The prices remain the same as the 2013 rates and fishing limits have changed in some counties, but not in our area. Owner of Dillon Falls Store, Kathy McCann suggest that you refer to the Ohio Fishing Regulation book for exact numbers.

"The main thing everyone wants to know has anything changed with is Crappie. You can catch crappie this year for Dillon and other places there wasn't any change. It's 30 a day, they just have to be nine inches so that ought to make everybody happy, " said McCann.

If people would like to fish without licenses the state of Ohio highlights two days where that can happen. This year those days will be May 3rd and May 4th. Children under the age of 16 are also able to fish without a license. McCann explains pricing.

" Regular resident fishing license are $19 same as last year, 66 and older is reduced to $10 and to get it free you have to be 76, " said McCann.

People can also purchase hunting licenses on Saturday, but tags for deer are not available until the season nears.
