West Muskingum Schools are delaying the start of classes for all buildings Thursday by 2 hours.

School officials said that a power outage has caused the delay.

American Electric Power is currently showing that 649 of its customers in Muskingum County are without power at this time.

AEP said that the outage was caused by a tree that fell onto the line and a broken cross arm on one of the power poles. Crews will be changing some lines around to try and get power restored to some of its customers, but expect power to be out for around 3 hours.
