In honor of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraiser coming up, the staff at WHIZ got involved in their own bowling tournament.
The second annual Wii Bowling Tournament took place at the station .14 employees competed on two different teams to raise money for the good cause.
"We thought it would really be fun to kind of put radio against TV, on top of that we like to joke about a little rivalry around the station," said Communications Manager, Sara Shallcross.
The staff raised money and members of the radio team came out victorious. Big brothers Big Sisters will have their bowling event on April 24, 25 and 26 at Sunrise Strikes and the WHIZ team will bowl on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
"The big thing before that is the other part of this is we want to raise a little bit more money and to get more donations in. We actually had wonderful volunteers from our TV staff decide that they would volunteer to be pied in the face, so were actually going to do that at two o'clock right before we bowl, " said Shallcross.
The public is invited out to support the team while they bowl and the Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraiser. To donate to the cause you can visit our website at www.whiznews.com/bowlforkidssake
