A mother daughter duo held a Spring Bazaar in order to show off the creativity of area locals.

After calling various locations, Sue Tysinger and her daughter, Tia Delong contacted an employee of the Newton Township Fire Department and was given the okay to throw the event in their gym. She says for their very first year she is happy with the support they have received from not only the department, but the community.

" I graduated from high school with some of the ladies out in the hallway that did a lot of the baked goods and probably half of the vendors here are either friends or close relatives," said Sue Tysinger.

More than 40 vendors showed up in total, but most importantly the craft show gave her daughter and other creative thinkers a chance to get their one of a kind designs out to the public.

" A lot of people like country chic now and we have a lot of that. We have one lady who does a lot of her own metal signs that are very unique and she can do anything, and Tia does a lot of signs and personalized projects, " said Tysinger.

Along with crafts there was also food sold at the event to raise money for members of Riverwood Church to take a mission trip later this month. Tysinger hopes to have this event again next year.
