After a year of planning, the 28th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction has finally come to an end.

Executive Director of the Carr Center, Kim Hosler says that they didn't quite reach last year's numbers, but she is still just as proud of the event. 365 cakes and incentives were auctioned off to lucky bidders on Friday evening.

"We didn't have as many cakes in so there weren't as many to bid on, but I have to say the packages this year were just beautiful. I think made up for quite a lot of that honestly what we saw here at the end was just the strength of our buyers," said Hosler.

The total amount raised this year was $131,500 and the money will go towards the ten youth and senior enrichment programs currently held at the center.

" We are going to use it wisely and try to grow what we do to reach further into this community to help people ," said Hosler.

Hosler would like to thank the hundreds of volunteers that made the auction possible. Once the event was over crews cleaned up all the left over items and within the next month they will start planning for the 29th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction.
