Over 140 golfers from the area and around the country turned out to the Zanesville Country Club Monday, all to support a great cause.
The 5th annual Tee It Up for Autism Charity Golf Outing took place in order to raise a goal of seventy-thousand dollars for local families with autistic children.
Shannon Coconis, President of the National Autism Association said, "This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it supplies all the money for our grants for the whole year. We haven't had to turn any families down."
Anyone who attended the event Monday had the chance to take part in not only a round of golf, but also other fundraising activities, contests and educational opportunities.
Coconis said, "We have a silent auction, a thousand dollar putt contest this morning and tonight we have a great guest speaker, Shannon Kenitz of the International Hyperbarics Association is going to be talking about hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Our guys from Oxy Health are here with their H Spot. So anybody out there that wants to check it out and try it out should come out and see it because its really an amazing thing."
