Golfers around the Zanesville area headed to Jaycee's Golf Course today to support a very important cause.

The 25th annual Disaster Relief Golf Tournament was held this afternoon. The funds raised went to support the people in the counties served by the local, American Red Cross. Marlene Henderson, Executive Director of the American Red Cross said it is always a fun event for those who partake in it.

"It's always a great time, golfers come out and enjoy this beautiful Jaycee's Golf Course, and enjoy some good food and good company while they're golfing."

If you didn't get the chance to golf in the tournament today, Henderson shared that there is always a need for Red Cross Volunteers.

"There are many many ways to volunteer. You can volunteer through events, to actually help people after a disaster. Just so many things that you can do. Of course donations are always appreciated."

Henderson says that because of their wonderful sponsors and events such as the Disaster Relief Golf Tournament, they are able to continue serving the community.
