Newark Police said they've concluded their investigation into a subject that entered a local gas station with blood on his arms, clothing, legs and shoes.

Authorities said the subject entered the Circle K on West Church Street around 11:14a.m. Monday, when the clerk asked about the blood he made the comment, "You should see the guy in the back of the truck."

He made his purchase and left the area in his truck. A concerned customer got his license number and called police to report the incident.

After an investigation the driver was located on his way home from work. The man told authorities he'd gotten a call about a deer struck by a car and responded, received paperwork and took the deer. The blood was from the deer.

Police said he'd stopped by the Circle K to get ice to pack the deer until he could get it to the butcher.
