Day 4 of the Pottery Lovers Festival took place Friday.
The event is being held at the Holiday Inn Express in Zanesville. Over 75 rooms have been filled with thousands of pieces of pottery. Many of these collectible works of art were made right here in the area. Pottery lovers can come to buy, sell, trade, or simply enjoy the beautiful art and what Zanesville is best known for. The Vice President of Pottery Lovers Patti Bourgeois said those who attend will also be able to take part in an educaitonal experience.
"Its an educational experience. Pretty much any dealer that is selling pottery can really give you a lot of history on what it is they're selling. In many cases even provenance, what particular collection it may have come from. They can tell you when it was made."
The pottery that is found at this event is shipped and sold all over the country. It is nationally known, and draws people to our area from all areas of the United States.
Bourgeois said, "It is the most important pottery event in the country every year. It is the event. The event that everyone comes to."
The last day of the event will be held Saturday from 9AM until 9PM. There will also be some rooms open for pottery viewing Friday evening. You are encouraged to come down and see all there is to offer.
