Heath Police and Fire Departments responded to a call regarding a two-year-old girl who had fallen into a swimming pool early Friday afternoon.

Crews received the call around 12:20 p.m. When they arrived on scene at 560 Deanna Stroll, the girl was unresponsive and was transported to Licking Memorial by Heath Squad Personnel. No further information is available at this time.

Local athletes laced up their running shoes July 4th to take place in the second annual, Red White and Run.

The patriotic 5K took place at the Muskingum Recreation Center at the OUZ Campus. The race benefited the future growth and development of the Muskingum Recreation Center and programing for underprivileged children. Brooke Smith, Health and Special Populations Coordinator said the idea for the run came when they wanted to bring something to the community.

The Newark Police reported they're searching for a suspect in a break-in at a local restaurant.

Police said overnight on May 26 store surveillance video at the Steak Escape Restaurant, on North 21st Street, shows what appears to be a male suspect entering the store and stealing cash drawers and a safe.

The suspect was wearing a dark jacket over a bright blue hoodie with dark pants and dark shoes.

A Zanesville man passed away following a traffic accident in Noble County.

The Noble County Sheriff's Office said that around 10:30 p.m.  Thursday, July 3 a vehicle driven by 66-year-old James Searles was traveling west on State Route 78, east of Caldwell, when a family argument erupted inside the vehicle.

Authorities said Searles stopped the vehicle partially on the roadway and a passenger got out. Searles then exited the vehicle and attempted to confront the passenger....

 The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office says a drug bust this week netted 70 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of an area man. 

 Captain Jeff LeCocq an early Thursday morning raid resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old Ian Mikal Norris of Zanesville.  He has been charged with one count of possession of Marijuana.

The First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Zanesville is taking place Friday. This month, the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project (ZAAP) is highlighting artist Jennifer Sands.

Sands graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design, and typically works with wool, fabric and resin. Some examples of these resin pieces will be on display at ZAAP. Sands says that the inspiration of her work that is currently on display came from changes in her life.

The 4th of July holiday accident started early this year. The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident on I-70 Thursday afternoon.  It happened just before 2:30 p.m. just east of Gratiot in the eastbound lanes.  Initial reports indicate a van and a camper were involved in the accident and the camper ended up on its side and the van ended up in the median.  No word yet on injuries.  The accident remains under investigation.

Fourth of July weekend starts tomorrow and nothing says Fourth of July like fireworks. But it's important to stay safe this holiday weekend.

For the first time in over 100 years, five pieces of local pottery are together again and on display at the Zanesville Museum of Art.

These five Weller vases range in size from forty inches to nearly seven feet tall. The pieces made in 1902 took a year to paint and were showcased at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904 in the city of St. Louis, Missouri.
