A national event came to Zanesville on Sunday to honor local survivors.

Genesis Cancer Services had their Celebrate Life event. The program coincides with National Cancer Survivor Day. Area cancer survivors and their families celebrated their health with music, food and games. Lee Murphy is a cancer survivor. He is currently 6 months in remission and says if you think you may have the disease seek help and face the cancer head on.

Lawn chairs filled Zane Landing Park on Sunday for the first session of the Zanesville Memorial Concert Band 2013 Summer Series.The event started promptly at 7 p.m.The concert featured music from the memorial band, as well as the High School Honors Band, that consisted of students from different area high schools . The South Zanesville Fire Department's Barbecue Chicken Fundraiser heated up Sunday.

The South Zanesville Fire Department needs to raise $20,000 by next January for a new high-band system and their annual chicken fundraiser is one way they're hoping to reach that goal. Firefighter, Russell Taylor says this year's barbecue was the quickest they have sold out and attendance was high.

Fire erupted at the Ming Jiang Grill Buffet at 2710 Maysville Pike Saturday evening, destroying the Chinese restaurant.

According to South Zanesville firefighter, Andy James, his department was alerted to the blaze around 5:30 pm. Once they arrived to the scene there were flames and heavy smoke showing from the roof and rear of the fully evolved structure. Everyone inside was able to escape uninjured.

Area fire fighters are on the scene of a fire at the Ming Jiang Grill Buffet at 2710 Maysville Pike. The South Zanesville Fire Department has requested three tankers at the scene of the blaze. Crews from Harrison Township, National Trails, and Crooksville are also responding with tankers to help fight the fire.Community Ambulance crews are also at the scene. Most people think of bees as annoying summertime pest, but people at this local conference beg to differ.

The Ohio State Beekeepers Association held their 2013 summer conference at the Pritchard Laughlin Center in Cambridge Saturday. The event focused on bee supplies and education to keep bees alive and hives running optimally. Vice president, Tim Arheit says that bees are dying and they are hoping to pinpoint the reasons why.

A young Zanesville man that was taken too soon is remembered through a fundraiser set up by his loving parents.

Grant Hickman died 2 years ago. He was a member of the Zanesville Football Team and touched the lives of many people in the community. Today was the 2nd annual Run for Grant event. The money raised at the run goes towards awarding scholarships to local students.

Coshocton County Sheriff's Office Reports that a dune buggy accident took place at Walhonding Hills Campground.

The accident took place early Saturday morning on June 1st at 1:59 a.m. Alan M. Ivancic 56 of Grafton, Ohio lost control of a dune buggy he was driving, striking a tree causing the vehicle to land on its side.

Ivancic suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol said that Friday night a fatal crash took place on US 62 near Mile Post 18, Burlington Township in Licking County.

35 year old, Jeremy Staubs, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio was driving a motorcycle  traveling eastbound on US 62 when he struck a Freightliner tractor driven by 65 year old, Hugh Heald, of Utica, Ohio, that  was also traveling in the same direction.
