Zanesville Police investigate a shooting in the 700 block of Dryden Road.

Lt. Chris Phipps said they were called to the area around 11:20p.m. Tuesday and found two homes that had bullet holes in them.

Residents told officers that the shooting of the homes had actually taken place around 9:00p.m. No injuries were reported.

A day after one confirmed tornado and a second possible tornado passed through southeast Ohio, the local EMA is surveying what all happened.

Muskingum County EMA Director Bo Keck traveled to Short Road near Frazeysburg Tuesday morning to take a look at some of the damage that affected crops and one home in the area.

Rides have long been a part of the scene at the Muskingum County Blue Ribbon Fair, and this year is no different.

For some, the fair is all about the food.  For others, it's the rides.  But for 4-H members, it's about all that hard work put into their projects finally paying off.

A Muskingum County Court judge will take the bench of the Court of Common Pleas in Zanesville.  Governor John Kasich has appointed Judge Eric Martin to serve as probate and juvenile court judge and he will assume office on August 13th.  Martin is replacing Judge Joseph Gormley, who retired.  Martin must win in November to retain the seat for full-time starting February 9th 2015.  The Muskingum County Board of Election says the only way that is possible if petitions are...

Two former members of the Harrison Township Emergency Medical Service Board change their pleas to guilty.

In Muskingum County Common Pleas Court 49-year-old Terry Randles and 49-year-old Richard Bennett entered pleas of guilty to theft of money between $1,000 and $7,500. Two other charges engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and money laundering will be dropped at the time of sentencing. Judge Kelly Cottrill ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said one woman was killed during a traffic accident in Coshocton County.

Sergeant Kelly said that the accident took place on US 36 between Coshocton and Warsaw around 5:10p.m. Monday.

He said their investigation shows that 46-year-old Tammy Steed, of Warsaw, was driving east on US 36 when she lost control of her vehicle, spun around and went left of center into the path of a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Karen Darby also of Warsaw....

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has confirmed an EF0 tornado struck down just northeast of Frazeysburg Monday afternoon.

EMA Director Bo Keck said the sheriff's office received multiple calls reporting a tornado at Old Riley Road and State Route 16 around 3:00 p.m. The tornado knocked a large branch onto a home at 4940 Short Road near Frazeysburg. With the Muskingum County Fair in full swing the Fair Board and Sheriffs Office are working hard to keep fair goers safe.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says that deputies will never be in the same spot very long. They will be driving around the fair grounds in golf carts, supervising events and patrolling the fairground around the clock.
