Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz Thursday released more details in connection with woman found dead in a wooded area near an apartment complex.  Lutz says the autopsy report confirms that the victim was a woman reported missing last Friday.  She is identified as 36-year-old Lisa Myers, who lived in Brookside Apartments. The Sheriff says the coroner says there was no blunt force trauma present on Myer’s body.  Lutz says toxicology tests are now taking place. ...

 The Village of Crooksville Water Department announced Thursday that a portion of the village is under a boil advisory. 

The boil alert affects customers on East Main Street, First Street, Sand Street and all of Fair View Heights. 

The water department said that you should boil your water before drinking.

State Representative Brian Hill is hosting a meeting to talk about recent flooding in the Dresden area. 

 Hill says in mid to late June farmers in northern Muskingum County contacted him with report of severe flooding on their farm lands. 

Staff from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be in attendance to speak to their role in monitoring and managing the many water projects like levees and dams which affect Muskingum County.

Zanesville Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Thursday morning in Zanesville.  Police say 46-year-old Terry McConnel shot and killed 39-year-old Kristina Holskey of 825 Main Street in Dresden in an exchange of gunfire during an apparent burglary attempt. Investigators say they were called to 1070 1/2 Linden Avenue at 3:13 a.m. and when they arrived they discovered  McConnell with a gunshot wound to the stomach...

The Guernsey County Sheriff's offers a word of warning to those traveling this summer season. Recently, the Sheriff's Office reported they've investigated several residential break-ins. 

The Sheriff Office said they found the majority of the break-ins occur while home owners are away on vacation and have posted those plans on social media in the form of pictures or check-ins.

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the theft of a trailer and mower from a Newark business.

The Newark Division of Police reports in the early morning hours of May 17, suspect(s) broke into Wright Brothers, located at 625 W. Church Street, and stole a trailer with a Bunton Estate lawn mower on it.

Fleas may be a bad thing for pets, but flea markets, on the other hand, can be very beneficial.

The Animal Shelter in Muskingum County will be hosting a flea market and yard sale at the Mass Bingo Hall this Saturday as a way to raise money for the shelter.  While there are already several vendors registered, Jody Murray, executive director of the shelter, said they still have plenty of room for more.

Back to school can be an exciting time for many children and their families...but it can also be very expensive.

The Salvation Army is stepping up to help with back to school clothes again this year.  They're hosting a school clothing giveaway at their location on Putnam Avenue.  They served over 120 families at the event last year, and they're prepared to serve even more this time around.

The Granville Post of the Highway Patrol says one person was killed in an accident on State Route 16 this morning.  It happened east of Granview Road just before 10 a.m.  Troopers says
40-year-old Michael Swiger of Reynoldsburg was driving east on 16, went left of center, striking a van driven by 48-year-old Michael Hayes of Newark.  Troopers say Swiger, who was not wearing his seat belt, died of his injuries at Licking Memorial Hospital.  Hayes suffered non-life...
