A Morgan county man accused of shooting his neighbor in the face pleads not guilty by reason of insanity. 59-year-old Jack Church of McConnelsville entered that plea in Morgan county common pleas court to one count of attempted murder and one count of menacing by stalking. He's charged in the shooting of 43-year-old Kristy Hooper, also of McConnelsville, on September 16th. Even though the Linden Avenue Dairy Mart is open 24 hours a day, operations were shut down earlier this morning after an armed robbery took place around 4:30 a.m. Zanesville Police described the suspect as a white male wearing blue jeans, a light colored shirt and a white article of clothing over his head. Tuesdays typically are normal, beginning of the work-week days for most of us. But in an effort to make the downtown area more appealing to the community, Tuesdays now have a new look. The Muskingum county sheriff's office has identified a 14-year-old boy killed when his father accidentally shot him in the chest with a crossbow while the two were deer hunting. Detective Steve Welker says 14-year-old Jason Foster of Lebanon and his father, 39-year-old Alan Foster of Middletown, were hunting deer near Adamsville on Saturday. Whoever said looks are everything must have been working on a revitalization plan to upgrade a downtown cityscape. Members of the Zanesville Downtown Association joined forces with several, local banks and decided to fund renovation projects -- without the help of outside forces or grants. Police continue their search for an armed robber who struck the Cambridge Cashland yesterday afternoon. They say the suspect tied the hands of the Cashland employee, took her into a bathroom, and ordered her not to push any alarms. Cashland is located about a tenth of a mile from the Cambridge Police Department. The suspect is described as a white male, 45-50 years old, he was wearing a red shirt and dark jeans. They are against a woman's right to choose and today they took their message to Maple Avenue. A coalition of Muskingum County churches and anti-abortion groups gathered on Maple Avenue for a peaceful protest against abortion. Where's the beef? Well, some of it packaged in Perry County is being recalled. New Lexington based Siemer Distributing Company is voluntarily recalling a 40-pound box of beef that may be contaminated with e-coli. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the beef was produced on September 30th and sent to a restaurant in Caldwell, Ohio.
