James Cornelius Brown 83 of Zanesville, formerly of Roseville, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. James was born in Zanesville, April 18, 1926 to the late Alfred Brown Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Sams Brown. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery and worked for many years at Nelson-McCoy Pottery in Roseville. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Roseville American Legion Post 71.
James is survived by his son, Robert (Kara) Jones of Zanesville, sisters: Jeanne Mohler of Nashport and Mary Brink of Pensacola, Florida, 3 grandchildren: Kaleb, Ross and Holden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Yocum Brown, a daughter Penny Brown; brothers: Russell, Bill and Spike and sisters: Betty Bassalla, Nancy Stalnaker and Marjorie Snyder
Calling hours will be Saturday, October 24 from 1-3 p.m. at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE. A Military funeral service conducted by the VFW Post 1058 will follow at 3 p.m. officiated by Pastor Vicki Morrison in The Snouffer Chapel
Burial will be at a later date at Rosehill Cemetery.
