Fay Arlene Parmer Powell, 62, of Velva, ND, formerly of Zanesville, died at 11:08 AM Thursday March 25, 2010 at Hospice in Minot, ND.
Fay was born September 17, 1947 in New Salem, OH the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ida Clarabelle Brown Parmer. She attended the Baptist Church in Minot and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She retired as a nurse’s aid from Willow Haven Care Center. First and foremost were her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Gary Lee Powell II whom she married December 5, 1969 in Zanesville, daughters: Florence Yester of Fairfield, CA and Kathy (James) Simpson of Zanesville, sons: Stephen (Deborah) Powell of Logan, Ralph (Lisa) Yester of Max, ND and Gary Lee (Sharon) Powell III of Velva ND, step-daughter: Cheryl (Martin) Dumolt of Zanesville, 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 2 step- great grandchildren, sisters: Luvadia Touvell and Rita (Robert) Miller both of Zanesville, brother: Albert (Barbara) Parmer of Chandlersville, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts uncles and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters: Violet Bradley and Emma France, brothers: Alfred Parmer and Phillip Parmer, sister-in-law: Nancy Parmer.
As per Fay’s wishes a cremation has taken place in Minot, ND at the Thompson – Larson Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
