Walter Vernon Eddy 88 of Blue Rock passed away on Tuesday September 7, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born in Zanesville on March 30, 1922 to the late Ralph Vernon and Ruth Mae Bell Eddy. He was a retired machinist from Hazel Atlas, Gould, and Timpken Roller Bearing. He was a member of the Duncan Falls seniors, Duncan Falls Presbyterian Church, Carlwick Grange, and George Selsam VFW Post 1058. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the US Army in WWII. He served in the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his wife Betty Eileen Dean Eddy of the home, a daughter Betty Jane Miller of Columbus, four grandchildren Mark (Marti) Staley, Karen (Mark) Shook, Genia (Casey) Head, and Jeff Miller. Seven Great Grandchildren Megan, Kendra, Mark Jr., Jennifer, Casey Jr., Luke, and Jonathon. Five Great-Great Grandchildren; Donald, Mia, Juan, Catalina and Luis. A son-in-law Robert McConaha of Chandlersville

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Linda McConaha and a sister Bernice Marie Eddy Lucas.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday September 9 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held in the Snouffer Chapel on Friday at 11am with Pastor Darla Revennaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors by George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
