Robert D. Browning, 89, formerly of Zanesville, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Scioto Community Nursing Home in Columbus. He was born June 24, 1921, in Perry County, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence A. and Blanche Combs Browning. He was a former parts salesman for Lucas Trucking Company and was a former employee for Paisley Rental. He was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ.
Surviving are two sons, Steven S. (Barbara) Browning of Reynoldsburg, OH. and Mark E. (Kimberly) Browning of Tipp City, OH.; four grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Samantha and Toby; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Waveline Kusmets of Cuyahoga Falls, OH., Jeannie (Gene) Shipley of Roseville, OH., Linda (Chuck) Quinn of Zanesville and Carolyn (Mike) Allen of Louisville, KY.; and two brothers, Merle (Carol) Browning of Orlando, FL. and Larry (Donna) Browning of Dayton, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Viola Browning, who died August 16, 2010; and several brothers and sisters.
No calling hours will be observed. A dignified cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville is entrusted with all arrangements. Robert and Mildred shared a happy and devoted marriage for over 67 years.
