Essie Marie Davis, 83, of Zanesville passed away on Monday October 11, 2010 at the Forest View Health Campus in Zanesville. She was born in Zanesville on March 25, 1927 to the late Willis Henry Harmon and Zelma Josephine Longshore Stotts. She was a surgical nurse at both Bethesda and Good Samaritan Hospitals, a member of the First Church of the Nazarene; she loved sewing and loved to sing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by four sons: Larry (Debbie) Davis of Zanesville, Kenneth Michael Davis of Zanesville, Steven Edward (Carol) Davis of Zanesville and Kevin Douglas (Debbie) Davis of Zanesville. Three brothers: Wayne (Nancy) Stotts of Zanesville, Danny Stotts of Virginia and John (Donna) Stotts of Zanesville. Four sisters: Nora (Bill) Davis of Zanesville, Josephine (Charles) Barner of Zanesville, Crena (David) Holman of Zanesville and Joy Gortner of Zanesville. Six Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Kenneth G. Davis who passed away in 1979, a brother Dayle Stotts and a sister Elaine Peterson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 13, 2010 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 W. MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE OHIO.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday October 14, 2010 at 11:00AM in The Snouffer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
