Susan Greer Williamson, 58, of Zanesville, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 30, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late James A. Marks and Mary J. Marks Higgins. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Muskingum University, where she was a FAD Alumni and her Master’s Degree in Curriculum Education from Ashland University. She retired after 35 years of service as a Kindergarten teacher for the East Muskingum School District. She was a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Gregory A. Williamson, whom she married August 5, 1975, of the home; father-in-law, C. Robert Williamson of Steubenville, OH; sister-in-law, Nancy (David) Ferrell of Orlando, FL; and Godfather, Leland Clegg of Boardman, OH.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Marks; mother and step father, Mary and Bob Higgins; a son, Robert James (Bobby) Williamson, who died August 18, 2007; and mother-in-law, Jacqueline Williamson.
Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 830 Military Rd., Zanesville with Rev. Floyd Starr officiating.
