Donald Lee Payton 77 of Roseville (Cannelville) passed away on Saturday January 1, 2011 at his residence with his children at his side.

Don was born on May 7, 1933 in Cannelville to the late Frederick and Etta Mae Rose Payton. Don was formerly employed in Construction and as a School Bus Driver for Franklin Local Schools. Don was the owner of Payton’s Grocery Store in Cannelville for 33 years. Don was a member of The Roseville American Legion Post 71 and proudly served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the US Army.

Don is survived by his companion Judith Dobbins of the home, three sons Steve (Libby) Payton, Doug (Tracy) Payton, and Ted (Kim) Ansel. Four daughters Teresa (Randy) Salvati, Jennifer (Dan) Payton, Tammy (Ev) Bowers and Angela (Tommy) Boring, His companion’s three children Tyroan (Kelly) Bresett, Deanna (Keith) Brown, and Rachel (David) Johnson. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty, a brother Freddie Payton and a sister June Smith.

Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8pm on Tuesday January 4 at THE ROSEVILLE CHAPEL OF THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 33 NORTH MAIN STREET ROSEVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Roseville American Legion Post 71.
