Garey Lee Spung sr., 61 of Zanesville, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011.

Garey was born in Zanesville the son of the late Richard and Ocie (George) Spung. Garey worked as a truck driver for U.S. Express and he enjoyed making things from wood.

Garey is survived by his wife Carolyn (Durant) Spung whom he married June 28, 1975; his daughter Tracie (Brian) McCleave of Westerville and his son Garey Lee Spung Jr of Zanesville; his step-children Tina Hoffman of Columbus, Jeff Madinger of Philo, Teresa (David) Hoskins of Pickerington, Bryan Madinger of Zanesville and Terry Madinger of Zanesville; his ½ brother Richard (Marilee) Spung of Zanesville; his ½ sisters Carol Gibson of Zanesville and Shirley (Don) Veyon of Roseville; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Garey is preceded in death by his sister Sharon Moorehouse; a ½ brother Lloyd Farley and a ½ sister Sue McNeal.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, March 6th at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be 11 am Monday with Pastor Alice Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls cemetery.
