Earl Robert Hiles Jr., 67, of Rose Farm, went to be with the Lord at 9:14 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 20, 1945, in New Lexington, a son of the late Earl Sr. and Blanche Smith Hiles. He had worked as a driver salesman for Wonder Bread. He was a member of Rose Farm Church of Christ, where he had served as Elder and Deacon since 1985 and Teamsters Union #637.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Lemity Hiles of the home; a son, Dale (Lesia) Hiles of Crooksville; three daughters, Cynthia Rice of Crooksville, Rebecca (Larry Jardine) Hiles of Zanesville and Kasey (Chad) Penrod of Crooksville; six grandchildren, Devon and Tyler Hiles, Jonathan (Nessie) Rice, Katie Rice, Joey and Abby Penrod; a great grandson, Mason Rice; three brothers, Eddie (Freda) Hiles of New Lexington, Bill (Mary) Hiles of Roseville and Randy Hiles of Wisconsin; a sister, Betty Jane (Dan) Bush of Roseville; his mother-in-law, Margaret Lemity of Crooksville; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Hiles of Crooksville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Rice; a brother, Herschel Hiles; and a sister, Freda Snyder.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. today, Friday, September 7, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 207 Burley St., Crooksville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Earl will be laid to rest at Crooksville Cemetery.
