Tri-Valley jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on Zanesville at Sulsberger Memorial Stadium.

Then the Lady Devils woke up.

Zanesville netted five unanswered goals and hung on to best the Lady Dawgs, 5-4, to win its season opener. 

Madison Ashby scored twice in the second half for the Lady Devils. Layne Hartnell paced the Lady Scotties with a pair of goals.

Ohio State football fans have received terrible news: star QB Braxton Miller is out for the season, per ESPN.

Miller re-injured his throwing shoulder while throwing a simple screen pass in practice last night. He underwent an MRI this morning.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller has reinjured his right throwing shoulder.

Miller had surgery on the shoulder back in February after injuring it during the Orange Bowl against Clemson. Since the operation, Ohio State coaches have been slowly bringing back the senior quarterback into team activities.

 The Zanesville Jets only needed one touchdown to secure the Ohio Football League North Conference Championship on Saturday night, defeating the visiting Cleveland Patriots, 6-0, at John D. Sulsberger Memorial Stadium.

Former Tri-Valley and Akron standout Hanna Luburgh announced Monday that she has will continue her basketball career overseas.

The shooting guard signed with AZS-UMCS Lublin, which is based in Lublin, Poland. Two fellow Americans will join her on the team: former Penn State point guard Dara Taylor and former Iowa State Cyclone Chelsea Poppens.

Brad Baker of Warsaw is no stranger to winning golf tournaments. 

Baker fired a 73 at Zanesville Country Club on Sunday and a 289 overall for his third Zanesville District Golf Association Amateur Championship.

Zanesville native Jason Boughman was tied with Baker after 54 holes, but dropped out of contention following three straight bogeys and a triple bogey on holes 9-12. Boughman finished with a 297, one stroke ahead of former Tri-Valley Scottie Zack Forker.
