RUMORS HAD SURFACED JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO ABOUT THE END OF AN ERA FOR LANCE DUPLER AT SHERIDAN....BUT THEN SOON AFTER DISSAPATED. WEDNESDAY NIGHT, BRANDON HANNAHS OF THE TIMES RECORDER REPORTED LANCE DUPLER WILL NO LONGER BE THE HEAD GENERAL AFTER 11 YEARS AS THE HEAD BASKETBALL COACH. DURING AN INTERVIEW WITH THE T.R., COACH DUPLER ATTRIBUTED HIS RESIGNATION AS HEAD COACH MOSTLY TO HIS RECENT LACK OF COMMITMENT TO THE PROGRAM. SAYING HE HAS MISSED MANY OF HIS CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES AND OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY EVENTS. IN THE PAST SEASON, DUPLER LED SHERIDAN TO A THIRD PLACE FINISH IN THE MVL TO GO ALONG WITH A 14-6 RECORD. OVER AN 11 YEAR SPAN...THE NOW FORMER HEAD COACH ALSO LED THE GENERALS TO THE SCHOOL'S LONE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2000 AND WON TWO MVL COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD'S.
