Coming off their first win of the season, the Zanesville Athletic Football Club returned home looking to capitalize on the victory. Instead they fell victim to the precision play of the visiting Erie Admirals by a final of 3-1.
Erie got off to a fast start just ten minutes into the game scoring the first goal of a rebound put back from Afram Latifi, who would prove to be a thorn in the Zanesville AFC side all night. After that first goal Zanesville had a couple of chances to tie the game but shots just went wide.
In the second half the ZAFC got on the board after a great pass from Smart Osadolor to Anthony Bahadour who chested the ball in to the twine to tie the game at one.
It didn't take Latifi long to answer back, about two minutes to be exact as he tucked a shot into the back corner of the net to give the Admirals the lead they never gave back. Erie added an insurance goal off the foot of Carl James who got a great pass into the box from Latifi and he put it away.
The ZAFC will be back at the Maysville Athletic Complex on Sunday June 30th as they host Detroit FC.
